IFA is a french dubstep producer, sound ingenier, a singer and a musician . After nearly a complete year and " The Judgment EP " ( still free to DL) , IFA is coming back with this 3 tracks EP: "

New Era", Loud and mysterious ...

Project yourself a Thousand years in the future. What would you see, or what would you meet ? ... As the world keeps shrinking, let's have a look on these threee post apocalyptical tunes and dive into IFA's vision of this future ...

01- " New Era " is a heavy boned dubstep track, with a deep and large ambiant background, made with winds instruments and un-identified sounds, coming from nowhere . Let your mind fall with its bassline, imagine you're waking up a thousand years in the future and get ready for the next piece of this EP.

02- " Rhapsody " is an hymne. After "Lilium" ( The Elfen lied manga Opening ,unreleased, contact the artist to get tha link), IFA goes furter again and once again gives us a master piece, melting lyrical & classical voices with huge and rusty drums and bass lines ... A must have ...

03- " Minen " is the third and last piece of " New Era " , and to finish this post apocalyptical trip, you can expect a rude and mental dubstep atmosphere, with always, this IFA's touch, somewhere between the movie scoring and metal music drums constructions, always featuring the big sound of Dubstep .

Akasha FX, Frances Mary, Jenny Bell: Feel the Fear EP

Akasha FX - Feel The Fear EP (FILTER054)
Release date: February 13th, 2012
Genres: Electronica, Leftfield, Breaks, Techno, Minimal
For fans of: UNKLE, Crystal Method, Plastikman, Meat Katie

ABOUT THE RELEASE

Even though their previous release White Space is still making waves in the media industry and is hot on the playlists of A-list music supervisors and radio programmers, the superduo return with yet another fantastic EP. It is their forth for Filter and probably has the biggest potential to cross over to the mainstream and daytime radio. Still, that surely doesn't mean Akasha FX have lost their edge.

The title track creates a surreal atmosphere beginning with a long build up showcasing the vocal talents of Jenny Bell. Once the breakdown hits you, you realize you have been caught in the distinctive Akasha FX web of sounds. Frances Mary returns on Filter with her contribution to the dubbed-out funk of Get Down. It is easy to imagine its nasty slow groove blasting on a sweaty secret party under a clear blue sky.

Req on the other hand serves as a witness to the various musical interests and influences of this duo. It reminds us of the best Plastikman works but upgraded to version 2012. Finaly, the last surprise arrives in the form of Soul Power, an ambient piece layered over a pulsating bass that creeps on you slowly and stays in your subconsciousness forever.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Akasha FX is the production partnership of Kristian Townsend and Darren Beale. As well as Akasha FX, both Kristian and Darren also produce the breakbeat project ‘Ways And Means’ together which has made a solid name for itself since it first came onto the scene as well as being part of Kosheen and Kosheen DJ’s which needs no introduction.

Akasha FX brings together all elements of their musical paths and creates a new and exciting project combining electronica, down tempo, ambience and breaks, creating a new sound that we are proud to be a part of.

To describe their sound is the hardest part, they create sonic soundscapes and combine vocals from a variety of singers, beats (both breaks and downtempo) and blend them to encourage what can only be described as deep listening through a hybrid of all their musical experience. Original to the core, Akasha FX are here to push the sound barrier and to give us something that we have not heard before.

Various Artists: Changes In State LP

Omni Music’s latest venture presents a collection of eclectic drum and bass and electronica featuring a host of up and coming artists that take the listener on an eclectic journey through experimental drum and bass and IDM, with diversions into jazz grooves and blistering amens. This LP visits ambient realms, dark future soundscapes and everywhere inbetween.

The album opens with the ambient beauty from Shebuzzz, before delving into a dark drum workout from Wilsh and Physikal and an amen tearout from Neil S. Although the compilation generally explores deep experimental territory from the likes of Jiva, with his IDM inspired rhythms and monosono's distinctive and original take on the dnb vision, it also ventures into the funky grooves from Noble Sense, the atmospheric oldskool-esque journeys by Phasix and Maff and the jazz-inspired groove by Enjoy. Each of these artists will certainly be ones to look out for in future.

Yes yes - great debut. - Marc Reck

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Spaces Between is the brainchild of Michael Orr. Originally from the west of Scotland he lives in Bristol producing his own music and working freelance for underground film makers.
He creates both electronic music and guitar based ambient looped soundscapes akin to Godspeed You Black Emperor! and Mogwai, with electronic pieces leaning towards early Aphex Twin and Boards Of Canada. Both of those outputs are very melodic in content and have a hypnotic quality, immersing the listener into an submersing emotive experience. He is currently working on new material and working closely with a director on a film project.
